Established in 1983, Reproductive Biology Associates is dedicated to providing state of the art patient care in an environment of compassion and concern. We adhere to the belief that clinical outcomes can be maximized through a true patient-physician partnership. As an established leader in the development of reproductive technology, RBA recognized the potential clinical advantages that oocyte cryopreservation could bring to patients requiring the use of donated eggs.
RBA’s initial egg freezing success came in 1997, when the practice reported the first births in the Western Hemisphere from frozen donor eggs. In 2000, after further refinement of the technique, RBA began to offer egg freezing as a means of preserving fertility in cancer patients facing fertility-threatening oncology treatment. Then, in 2007, the RBA scientific team achieved it’s most important egg freezing breakthrough to date. Utilizing a new rapid freezing technique with egg donors between the ages 21-30, RBA achieved pregnancy rates in egg recipients in excess of 60% and equal to our fresh donor egg statistics. More importantly, the RBA egg freezing protocol proved that it produced success rates equal to those of fresh donor cycles in traditional IVF centers around the world.
The culmination of this exciting breakthrough was the opening in late 2007 of the Reproductive Biology Associates Egg Bank.
By utilizing the services of the Reproductive Biology Egg Bank, you efficiently and cost effectively partner with us in your care. Most patients will be eligible for the egg bank, however, some couples with severe male factor infertility or the need for preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) will still require fresh egg donation. The frozen egg cycle will be planned and implemented around your schedule and we put you in control of the donor selection process. In addition, the Reproductive Biology Associates Egg Bank will provide your frozen donor egg cycle for a fraction of the cost of a traditional donor cycle.
