Egg Donor Privacy
MyEggBank’s donation process is anonymous, meaning your identity will not be shared with the recipient of your eggs. MyEggBank donation centers do offer donors the option to have their identity disclosed to a child born from their donated eggs when he or she reaches age 18.
As part of the MyEggBank donor application process, you must choose to either 'opt in' or 'opt out' of the disclosure program by signing an affidavit. You have the right to change your mind at any time. You may 'opt in' to disclosure at the time of donation and then change your mind later on by signing and returning an affidavit of nondisclosure to MyEggBank.
Your identity would only be disclosed directly to the child. Donors should be mindful that not every recipient parent will disclose the existence of a donor to their child, and not every child born from donor eggs will want to know the identity of their egg donor or make contact.
Finally, as a protection of your, and the recipient family’s anonymity, you will not be notified of the outcome of your donated eggs.
If you have any questions about this policy, please contact your donation center or MyEggBank here or at 1.866.537.8642.
